The problem. Prior surgery has failed to heal. Here, as in all patients that fail to heal, the breakdown was caused by leaving the distal end of the suture line deep in the airless cleft, in the "sewer".
This wound is only open when the patient lies on his face. The
source of trouble is the closed status of the cleft at all other times, sitting, standing, in bed. The tissue isn't weak! Conditions are ghastly for cells trying to heal. |
